Welcome to Annapolis Canoe and Kayak
Annapolis Harbor Boat Yard in collaboration with ACK is offering a workshop for light glass and gel coat repair on kayaks. Sat. Feb. 18 10am to 2pm. $5 fee covers materials and bbq (this is kayaking after all). There will be space to work on up to five kayaks. Given the temps in the enclosed outdoor space at AHBY the repairs will be primarily gel-coat and light glass w. vinyl ester resin. It won't be possible to cover kevlar and epoxy repairs in these cooler temps. Give Lee Gardner at Annapolis Canoe and Kayak a call 410-263-2303 for reservation and details. We'll need a minimum of ten people to make this possible so tell your friends and bbq fiends.
Are you properly prepared for cold water paddling?
There are many safety considerations involved with paddling, and one of the most important for paddling in the colder months would have to be dressing to swim. As unlikely as an accidental capsize may seem to many paddlers....we suggest you play it safe and "dress to swim!"
ACK has wet suits, dry suits, first layer wear, jackets, shoes, gloves, and more from Kokatat, NRS, Chota, SealSkinz, and more.
To learn more about the effects and dangers of cold water, as well as tips to help keep you safe, check out the CPA's "Cold Water Brochure" HERE
ACK recently hosted The Chesapeake Paddlers Association's Cold Water Clinic.

But you’ll have the advantage of an expert guide who has “hindsight.” Let John Page Williams take you on a journey along the waterways traveled by Smith and discover the special places Smith described and how remarkably the same—or different—these places are today.
